The governor, who urged the people of the state not to be carried away by the criminality of the small group of people, said: “every citizen of Nasarawa State knows who have brought about these problems, every citizen of the state also knows the activities of this small group of people because everybody has a story to tell negatively about how this small group has brought tears to everybody’s face”.
According to him,  government would not fold its arms and allow the perpetrators to go free, adding that his administration would do everything within its power to ensure that those behind the act would be brought to book.
Earlier, the team leader of the delegation, Alhaji Tanko Wambai, informed the governor that they were at the Government House to sympathise with him over the incident.
According to him, if the intention of the Ombatse militia group was to create a boundary between the people of the state, they would not succeed as the people were resolute in defending the course of peace and harmony, irrespective of tribal and religious differences.
Alhaji Wambai called on government and security agencies not to relent in their efforts towards bringing the perpetrators to justice so as to serve as deterrent to others.
