Asamoah Gyan confident of Ghana’s progress at 2014 World Cup

Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan says the Black Stars are in the position to make it beyond the group stage of the 2014 World Cup after being drawn with tough opponents.

Friday’s draw saw Ghana drawing USA, three-time world champions Germany, and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.
Group G has since been described as one of the toughest groups ahead of the 2014 World Cup next summer.

But former Sunderland striker, Asamoah Gyan who has scored four goals in two World Cups has assured Ghanaians of another great campaign.

"It happens to us always, the most difficult group, the group of death, but we have a good selection to rival any team. We don’t fear Germany, Portugal or even the United States.
"Ghanaians can be rest assured; we will qualify and make the country proud again.

"There is great teamwork and coordination among us, so we will work hard, Gyan is quoted by Portuguese sports paper, A Bola.

The Black Stars who will open their campaign on June 16, 2014 against the USA have made it to the knockround at their two previous campaigns in Germany and South Africa.
