Sunday, 34, allegedly raped a 13-year old girl to death in Ekiti on Monday.
The suspected rapist, from Cross River State, reportedly tricked his victim, whose parents were his co-labourers, into a Cocoa plantation where she was raped.

The girl died in the processed. The suspect was detained at the Police headquarters in Ado Ekiti, while the corpse of the girl was deposited at the morgue of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.

It was gathered that Sunday and the victim’s parents were labourers with a farmer (name not disclosed).

It was learnt that the residents of the village searched for the girl for three days before finding her decomposing body in the cocoa plantation.

“They later contacted the Police. The police perceived an odour  and traced the girl to the spot where they found her lifeless body with thick blood in her private part.”

Sunday was said to have confessed to the crime before being handed over to the police.
