Jonathan Inaugurates Advisory Committee On National Dialogue

President Goodluck Jonathan has inaugurated the Advisory Committee on National Dialogue.
The president gave the committee six weeks within which to formulate an all-inclusive process that will make all Nigerians contribute towards how they will live together as one.

He described their task as a national project aimed at resolving long standing impediments to a united Nigeria which he had to carry out at the behest of Nigerians.

The terms of reference for the advisory committee include calling all relevant stakeholders with a view to drawing up an agenda for the confab or dialogue, making recommendations on the structure, on how representation of the various groups will be determined and advising on the legal framework among others.


Chairman of the committee, Dr. Femi Okuroumu observed that government has been sitting on the fence following criticisms over whether or not the convocation of the conference and thanked the president for taking the bulls by the horn

The Presidency had approved the membership and terms of reference of the Federal Government’s Advisory Committee on National Dialogue.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, had named Dr. Femi Okurunmu as Chairman while Dr. Akilu Indabawa will act as its Secretary.

Other members of the committe are Prof. George Obiozo; Prof. Ben Nwabueze (SAN), Senator Khairat Gwadabe; Senator Timothy Adudu, Col. Tony Nyiam (Rtd) and Prof. Funke Adebayo.

The other members of the committee are Dr. (Mrs.) Mairo Amshi,  Dr. Abubakar Sadiq, Alhaji Dauda Birma, Mallam Buhari Bello and Mr. Tony Uranta.
