Racism: NFF prepares Keshi’s defence

Following the receipt  of FIFA’s query to coach Stephen Keshi on account of  the petition sent by former coach of Malawi Tom Saintfiet, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is set to defend the Super Eagles coach.

Speaking on this development, the spokesman for the NFF, Demola Olajire said the Glasshouse chieftains will sit down with the former Super Eagles captain with a view to articulating his defence.

“We have received the query from FIFA asking  coach Stephen Keshi to state his part of the whole development,’’ Olajire stated.

According to him, the NFF will do justice to him, the query  with a view to absolving the coach who has been accused of racist remarks. However, there is no timeline attached to when the world football governing body is expecting the reply.

“One thing is sure, we are going to be thorough with our defence, but for now we are studying the query and I can assure you by the time we are through our man  shall work out clean,” he added.

It will be recalled that Tom Saintfiet, former coach to the Malawian national team objected to an alleged racist remark made by Keshi on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
