Group Condemn the Sack of Nine Ministers

The Bauchi State Chapter of Youth Progressive Forum has condemned the recent sacking of nine ministers by President Goodluck Jonathan saying the action was politically-motivated and ill-timed.

The group, in a press released by the group in Bauchi and signed by the chairman Sagir Yusuf and the Secretary Comrade Aliyu Ladan, said the sack was targeted at the new PDP.

It regretted that rather than facing squarely the deplorable situation that is threatening the nation's democracy, the president was busy playing politics.

The group warned that the political and social instability within the ruling party if not well addressed is capable of igniting chaos with the potentials of dividing the country along ethnic, religious and chauvinistic lines.

It noted that the ruling PDP was busy dividing the citizens in the name of power struggles by causing problems in the PDP in Adamawa, Sokoto, Rivers states, stressing that the sacking of the nine ministers whose state governors are in the new PDP is highly unfortunate, uncalled for and shows how ungrateful President Jonathan is.

While demanding for the sack of PDP national chairman Bamanga Tukur with immediate effect, the group urged President Jonathan to forget his 2015 ambition for the sake of peace, harmony and stability of the county.
It also said Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amechi of Rivers state should be fully recognized as the authentic chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum.
