Gareth Bale has passed his medical at Real Madrid and will get his first taste of life as a galáctico on Monday afternoon when he is presented at the Bernabéu.
Bale flew to the Spanish capital on Monday morning after Real ended more than two months of speculation, gossip and negotiation on Sunday by announcing they had agreed a deal – thought to be worth a world-record €100m (£85.3m) – with Tottenham Hotspur for the 24-year-old.
He will pen a six-year contract and be paraded in front of the Primera Division club's fans at his official unveiling from 1200 BST.
Attaching a picture of the former Southampton man giving the thumbs-up while undergoing his medical, Real posted on their website: "The new Real Madrid player passed the tests he underwent in the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja. Gareth Bale went to the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja, where he underwent medical examination prior to his move to Real Madrid.
"The player passed the tests successfully and then went to the Bernabéu to sign his contract. The footballer arrived at hospital around 0930 (8.30am BST). There he conducted various medical tests: blood and urine analysis, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, MRI, radiological and biomechanical study, clinical examination in the musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory examination."
