Eagles accept $5,000 winning bonus

Super Eagles players have accepted the $5000 winning bonus offered them by the Nigeria Football Federation for beating the Flames of Malawi in Calabar in a crucial World Cup qualifying match on Saturday September 6 2013.

The bonus for the men’s national football team was pecked at the above amount after the NFF stated that they could no longer afford going over board to settle bonuses.

No row

According to the Media officer for the Eagles Ben Alaiya and also the independent findings of futaa.com, there was no dust raised over the bonuses awarded for the Malawi game.

Meanwhile the NFF President Aminu Maigari has hinted that players’ bonuses may soon be jacked up from the present $5000, he was however quick to state that such increase can only come if the finances of the football federation stabilises.
