Three Abducted Edo Teachers Regain Freedom

The three kidnapped primary school teachers attached to the Orhogbua Primary School, Ekenhuan community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State regained their freedom, Tuesday.

The trio, Mrs Patience Osadolor, Patience Oroghene and Aisha Momodu, were abducted penultimate week, after gunmen stormed the school in a commando style.

The suspected kidnappers later demanded N60million from the families, but later reduced the ransom fee to N7.5 million.


Consequently, teachers in the state have been protesting round the streets of Benin calling for their release. However, Vanguard learnt that the teachers regained their freedom at about 3 a.m, Tuesday.

At press time, it was still unknown whether ransom was paid before their release.

The families of the victims and teachers in the state had earlier appealed to the kidnappers to release the teachers, explaining that it would be almost impossible to afford to kind of money demanded by the suspects.
