Wande Coal Quit Mavin Records

Award-winning artiste, Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe, popularly known as Wande Coal has quit Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records.

E-train gathered that Wande Coal released a single ‘Kilaju’ recently under his own record label, Black Diamond Entertainment. His two previous singles ‘The Kick’ and ‘Rotate’ were released under Marvin Records.

Although no official statement has been issued on Wande’s exit from Mavin Records, there are strong indications that he has moved on for good as the official cover art of the new single reads: Black Diamond Entertainment-Wande Coal Kilaju-produced by Maleek Berry, who is Wizkid’s producer.

There have been rumours of cracks in the Mavin crew in the past and the exit of Wande Coal could be a sign that all is not well. He has only released one full-length album Mushin2Mohits back in 2009. It could be recalled that Mavin Records was founded barely a year ago after the crisis that rocked Mo’Hits records led to the split of Don Jazzy and Dbanj. Other artistes on the label are Tiwa Savage, D’Prince and Dr Sid.
