Up Date-United close in on Cesc deal

MANCHESTER UNITED believe they are close to landing Cesc Fabregas in a £26milllion move.
Chief executive Ed Woodward flew home from the club’s pre-season tour this week to try and push the deal through.

And today in Sydney manager David Moyes revelaed he was optimistic of good news soon about their pursuit of the Barcelona midfielder.

Moyes said: “The chief exec has been dealing with it just now and I am in contact with him.
“I’ll hopefully know a little more in the next day or so.

“I may have a bit more information in the next day or so about how it’s going.

“As far as players we’re looking to bring in, we’re trying very hard to make some additions to the squad.
“Hopefully there’ll be some good news in the not too distant future.”

Moyes was asked again about Wayne Rooney’s future but confirmed he was still not for sale.
The Scot said: “The club’s position hasn’t changed on Wayne Rooney. There’s no change."
