Prophet TB Joshua takes over Ghanaian club Wassaman United

The Nigerian prophet is expected to rename the club Emmanuel Stars FC after it has been handed over to him in the coming days
Popular Nigerian preacher, Prophet TB Joshua has taken over a Ghana Division One side Wassaman United.

The General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) is expected to complete the take-over process by the close of next week, according to officials of the second-tier club.

“I’m meeting him within the week. I have given it to him after he expressed interest in getting a football club to manage because of his great love for the game. The name will be changed to Emmanuel Stars FC as he has proposed. It has been accepted already,” Moses Parker Armah, a majority shareholder of the club, said.

According to the Graphic Sports, there would be no “monetary considerations in the transfer” as the owners have decided to offer the club to the spiritual leader as a personal gift.

Wassaman United were relegated in the 2011-12 season.

Prophet Joshua is widely known for his prediction of football matches. He also owns My People FC in Lagos, the club where Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazi cut his teeth.
