Smuggling of frozen turkey may be a lucrative business into
Nigeria for some, but the Nigeria Customs Service says it’s an unlawful
trade.
And to show that it would not allow the trade go on the Customs Unit Zone C, Owerri has destroyed 7,552 cartons of smuggled frozen turkey and chicken with duty paid value of N77 million.
While speaking to journalist at the destruction site at the command headquarters in Owerri, the south east of Nigeria Area Controller; Mr Victor Dimka, said that the suspected smugglers were arrested in the south-south region of the country.
