Keshi to pick Eagle's Pre W/Cup Camp

Nigeria head coach, Stephen Keshi, has been handed the decision to determine where he would prefer as his Team Base Camp for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

Keshi said the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has given him "the free hand to select the Team Base Camp."

“I am happy to have been given the free hand to select the Team Base Camp. You may think it is a small gesture but not every head coach has that privilege. I am certainly going to use the opportunity to select the best for our team,” said Keshi.

The Nigerian manager is already inspecting a number of proposed Team Base Camps in Sao Paulo following the provision of 83 of such camps in the final Team Base Camp brochure for the World Cup finals.
The African champions, like the other World Cup finalists, are expected to confirm their Team Base Camp before the end of January 2014.

Nigeria's Super Eagles will also be expected to arrive at their Team Base Camp at least five days before their first match of the World Cup in Brazil.

It means Keshi and his team will have to arrive at their Team Base Camp on June 11 before their opening game against Iran at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba.

It is the first time in the history of Nigeria’s participation in the Fifa World Cup finals that the football federation will give the head coach a free hand to decide the Team Base Camp.
