Lagos Assembly approves N536m to purchase security vans for police

The Lagos State House of Assembly has approved N535,767,100 for the government to purchase 100 units of Toyota Hilux van for use by the police.
 
The approval for purchase of the Toyota Hilux vans came on the request of Governor Fashola through a letter to the speaker.

According to Fashola, the state needed the amount for purchase of 100 units of the vans that will be donated to the state Command of the Nigeria Police.


He said that the donation would enable the Force police the state effectively and guarantee security.

The House also called on Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola's administration to complete the expansion of Epe-Ibeji Expressway in order to arrest the rate of accidents on the road. The motion was moved by Hon, Abiodun Tobun (Epe 1) under matter of urgent public importance .

The House, in addition asked relevant ministries and agencies, including LASTMA to ensure that sand miners don't pour sand carelessly on the road, while hawkers along the highway should be checked to reduce the rate of accidents on the road even as the state is busy with expansion of the  roads.

Members also used the occasion to pour encomium on Pastor Mayowa, wife of Speaker Adeyemi Ikuforiji, who turned 50 yesterday.

They all extolled her virtues of humility, accommodation, philanthropy and describing her as a role model and mentor to many people, just as they wished her long life in the service of the state and Nigeria in general.
