Delta Central By-election: Our Victory, Forecast Of 2015 – PDP

The Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, yesterday described the victory of the PDP in the Delta State central senatorial by- election last Saturday as a signpost of what will happen in 2015.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the PDP candidate, Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, winner of the senatorial  election. He defeated Ede Dafinone of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP)  and O’tega Emerhor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), amidst complaints by the APC of thuggery.

In reaction to his party’s victory, Secondus boasted that the result of the polls has shown that only PDP remains a national party. He further described the opposition in Nigeria as mere paper propaganda and lambasted them for not campaigning for election.

He said, “this victory of the PDP in the Delta state central senatorial election is just a whetting appetite of what to expect by 2015. The victory of the PDP in the senatorial election in Delta state has confirmed that the PDP is the only national party in Nigeria. It has also confirmed that other opposition political parties are nothing but mere media propaganda.

“The opposition political parties will not go into the field to campaign but merely concentrate in empty propaganda in the media. Nigerians are not fools and can no longer be deceived. They want to belong to the national party and this is what the PDP represents.”

The deputy national chairman, pointed out that the Southern region of the country is a no go area for the opposition parties.

He noted “the significance of the Delta state central senatorial election is also a confirmation that the despite the noise and propaganda of the opposition political parties that they have no room or electoral value in the South and precisely in the Southsouth. This is a no go area for the opposition parties.”

He also noted that in spite of the opposition gang up against the PDP Nigerians prefers to be counted among agents of national unity.

“The people of the Delta central senatorial district have spoken in one voice and this should be expected at the 2015 general elections because Nigerians believe in national unity and regionalism.

The victory shows that always that PDP is the party to beat”, the PDP deputy national chairman said.
