Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan has showered IAAF World Championship double medalist, Blessing Okagbare with cash and land for doing nation proud in Moscow last month.
At a reception in Asaba to honour Okagbare who won a silver and bronze medals in the long jump and 200m respectively at Moscow 2013, Uduaghan gave the Delta girl N2.5m as well as a training grant of $120,000 yearly till the 2016 Olympic Games.
A major street in Asaba is to be named after her in addition to being conferred with Delta Youth Ambassador title.
Last Wednesday at the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja, President Goodluck Jonathan had similarly doled out cash to Okagbare for her feat in Moscow.
He promised to also confer a national honour on her for doing the nation proud in track and field.
