Workers escape Florida gas plant after a series of explosions rip through factory

Fifteen workers had initially been reported unaccounted for after the blasts at the Blue Rhino propane plant in Tavares but US authorities have confirmed all have now been accounted for.

Seven workers have been injured after a series of explosions rocked a Florida gas factory.
The blasts at the Blue Rhino propane plant in the town of Tavares began at about 11pm (3am GMT) and blew the roof off the building.
Fifteen workers had initially been reported missing and were feared killed but US authorities have confirmed all workers have now been accounted for.

John Herrell, of the Lake County Sheriff's Office said there are usually 53,000 20lb propane tanks at the factory which refills tanks typically used for barbecues.

He said a crew of 24 to 26 people were working at the plant on a night shift when the explosions happened.
The cause of the initial blast is not yet known but officials have launched an investigation.
Video footage on WESH-TV in Orlando showed fires burning through trucks used to transport propane tanks, which were parked at the plant.

The fire was sending plumes of smoke into the air nearly two hours after the blast.
