Royal baby: Queen pays visit to great-grandson

The Queen has arrived at Kensington Palace to visit her great-grandson, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's son.

The visit comes after the new family spent their first night at home.
They left St Mary's Hospital in west London on Tuesday evening, where the duke told reporters the couple were still "working on a name" for the third in line to the throne.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said it was "now private and quiet time for them to get to know their son".
The Queen made the short journey from Buckingham Palace in a dark green Bentley.

The visit comes ahead of her departure on Friday for Balmoral in Scotland for her traditional summer break.
The monarch had said she was "thrilled" at the arrival of her first great-grandson during a reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening.

The family spent their first night at Kensington Palace, which is expected to be their new home
Louise Butt, a guest at the event for the Queen's Award for Enterprise, said the monarch had also described the baby as a "big boy" and had said that "the first born is very special".

The Queen was not the first to meet the royal baby prince.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, and Catherine's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, paid visits to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Prince Charles said the baby was "marvellous" while Mrs Middleton said he was "absolutely beautiful".
