Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan, will meet with Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, and other senior Chinese government officials next week to discuss and sign pressing bilateral trade and support agreements.
According to Business Day Nigeria, the agreements would cover defence, economic and technical co-operation, finance for the Zungeru Power Plant and airport terminals, and mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports.

The Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati explained that: “There would also be an agreement for the Central Bank of Nigeria to invest in China’s Inter-Bank Bond Market through the Peoples’ Bank of China. An agreement for the prevention of the theft, illicit import and export of cultural property will also be discussed.”

Statements from the Presidency also indicate that the five-day visit, which will begin on Tuesday, will see the two countries sign at least four major agreements.
