Finance Commissioner Quits Fashola’s Cabinet For Bank’s Job

The Lagos State Commissioner for Finance Mr. Tokunboh Abiru,  on Monday resigned his appointment from the cabinet of Governor Babatunde Fashola.

Our correspondent learnt that Abiru presented his letter of resignation to Fashola during the state executive council meeting on Monday.

LEADERSHIP gathered  that Abiru  vacated his position in order  to take up an appointment as the executive director of First Bank of Nigeria Plc and a board member of FBN Holdings.
In his letter of resignation to Fashola  dated  June 8, Abiru expressed his gratitude to the governor for the life changing opportunity to serve the good people of Lagos and affirmed that he had, indeed, benefited from his good leadership and governance.


He promised to remain a committed and good ambassador of the values of the state governor’s admirable leadership.

The letter of appointment from First Bank  dated June 19, 2013, stated that  the appointment of Abiru as an executive director takes effect from  August 1, 2013.
Abiru was also nominated by a June 26, 2013 letter from the FBN Holdings Plc to serve as a Director on its Board
LEADERSHIP

Accepting the letter of resignation , the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola   commended him for rendering meritorious service to the state.
