Nadal shows why he is ‘King of Clay’ by winning French Open title

The moment Rafael Nadal defeated Novak Djokovic, in the semi-final of the French Open, even the staunchest opposition knew that he was on course to win a record eight title at Roland Garros.
Nadal, the undisputed ‘King of Clay’ overcame his fellow Spaniard,David Ferrer in straight sets to win an unprecedented eight French Open Grand Slam titles,on Sunday and his 12th overall.
The 27-year old, effortlessly downed Ferrer, who was making his first appearance in a Grand Slam final,in straight sets 6-3 6-2 6-3.

Though the finals was marred with scenes of protest in the stands, and also from a topless intruder, who jumped to the court aiming for Nadal, before quickly whisked away by security;it not deter the Mallorca born tennis player,to march on to his conquest.
With the victory,Nadal became the first man, to win eight titles at the same Grand Slam tournament, and has now moved joint third,in the all time Grand Slam winners, behind Roger Federer and Pete Sampras.
“Rafael was better than me,” Ferrer said. “He served better; he played very aggressive with his forehand. He didn’t make mistakes. He played more regular and consistent than me.”
“Rafael, in important moments, he’s the best,” Ferrer added.
Athletics World record holder,Usain Bolt, had the honour of presenting the trophy to Nadal, with the Spanish player underlying his prowess,by successfully defending the title he won last year, before going out of the sport for seven months following a lengthy injury lay-off.
Anybody betting against Nadal, extending it to a record 10 French Open titles?
