Former Super Eagles star Thompson Oliha dies

Former Nigeria international midfielder Thompson Oliha has died.
The 44-year-old, who was a part of Nigeria’s 1994 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad, died in a private hospital in Ilorin on Sunday morning after complaining of malaria.
Oliha, whose playing career was cut short at the age of 27 because of a serious injury, was working as a coach at the Kwara Football Academy prior to his death and is reported to have been on the bench of the KFA boys in their match against a Malian tean yesterday.

In his heyday Oliha featured for illustrous teams like Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now Heartland), Bendel Insurance, Africa Sports (in Ivory Coast), Ironi Ashdod (Israel) and Antalyaspor (Turkey).
Along with Rashidi Yekini and Uche Okafor, Oliha is the third member of the victorious team from 1994 to pass on.
