Southern Kaduna Rally: Buhari, Tinubu Meet

Former Military Head of State and leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju  Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, met in Kaduna to finalise discussion on the planned rally/seminar in Southern part of Kaduna state.
The planned rally expected to take place tomorrow is organised by the conference of all opposition parties in Southern Kaduna, with the theme “A Decade of Democracy: A region at the crossroads.”

The rally is generating palpable anxiety among the general populace of Southern Kaduna as GenBuhari (rtd) and Tinubu agree to join other high profile opposition figures in Nigeria for the rally in Kagoro town, Kaura Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna state tomorrow.
The ACN leader who arrived Kaduna as at 3 pm, yesterday, drove straight to GenBuhari’s House where they held closed door meeting with leaders of the opposition parties in Southern Kaduna, an area that has been the stronghold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since the return of democracy in 1999.
A Source at the meeting told LEADERSHIP that the meeting centred on the progress gained from the merger talks and how to capture power from the PDP come 2015 in Kaduna State.
The former Lagos Governor, LEADERSHIP gathered also took time to commiserate with GenBuhari over the recent attack in his home, Daura area of Kastina State.
On the plan rally, LEADERSHIP learnt that women and youth groups in Southern Kaduna have been fully mobilised to receive the visitors with pop and pageantry.
Others expected are:  The governor of Lagos state,  BabatundeFashola  (SAN) , Governor of Nasarawa State, AlhajiTankoAl-Makura, and former Governor of Kano state, who was the Presidential candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in the 2011 Presidential polls, Alhaji Ibrahim Shekarau.
Also billed for appearance are: former governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume, Senator Mohammed Saleh, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial zone, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) AlhajiNasir el-Ruffai among others.
The Seminar will be chaired by former Chief of Naval State, Vice Admiral Ibrahim Iko (rtd), a native of koi, Jabba, LGA of Kaduna state, under the theme: “A Decade of Democracy: A Region at  the crossroads”
