Though the trip was hectic due to the long distance and the stress of the flight, the Osun delegates were full of excitement and joyful songs when they arrived at Cuba.
They showcased the rich culture of the state by conducting themselves morally with their African attires.
It took more than four hours before the delegates, who were received by Mr Camilo, could be cleared at the Cuban Airport, from where they were taken to the Campamento International Julio Antonio Mella Camp in Caimito, Artemisa Province.
The delegates boarded KLM 07 plane from Lagos to Amsterdam at 10:10pm on Sunday from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria.
On arrival at the Amsterdam Airport at 5:39 am, the delegates waited for another four hours before the immigration and customs officers at the airport cleared them to board plane to their final destination, which is Cuba.
However, after sitting comfortably in the Amsterdam to Cuba plane, the delegates were surprised when the pilot announced that the plane was having technical problem.
The flight was however, delayed for over two hours before another KLM Royal Airline plane was provided.
The delegates, however, appreciated the sincerity of the pilot, when he declared that the plane was not fit to embark on the trip.
All the passengers were compensated with five Euros food ticket and another five minutes’ call ticket, which lasted for 48 hours.
Upon arrival in Cuba, the delegates proceded to Bureau De Change at the Cuban Airport to change their dollars to pesos, which is the Cuban currency.
